“For me, being an artist is one hat of many. I associate being an artist less with places and more with moments; 10 minutes here, 30 minutes there. Big thoughts and best laid plans. Little bursts of energy in my weekly routine. I feel more like an artist on the bus than almost anywhere else. Bus seats are the paintings I get to see all the time. I like to incorporate the objects that hold my fascination directly in my work, as playful surfaces for my innermost thoughts, ideas, confessions…I’ve found inspiration over the years from lots of other places outside of the art world that scratch my creative itch in a similar way. Construction. Cake decorating. Home decor. Sometimes a trip to IKEA feels more creatively fulfilling than a gallery visit. Or maybe that’s just the meatballs talking. ds”
My work serves as a visual diary of my thoughts, feelings, and observations. I explore the quiet poetry of everyday life and stories held by the places I visit. Alongside this outward gaze, I turn inward and paint my inner landscape, searching for connections between the seen and the sensed. Art, to me, is an evolving dialogue; therefore, I experiment freely with diverse mediums, materials, and themes, allowing each piece to unfold on its own. My practice is an ongoing journey of connecting the visible world with the unseen and unlooked-for, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and perhaps glance at their inner narratives within mine.
